This week, we played Bossaball. We enjoyed this sport a lot because we both enjoy playing volleyball. We used a baseball net as our net and obviously we did not have the inflatable court or the trampoline. We started by tossing the ball up and trying to touch it using our feet. It was difficult to start, but we got the hang of it. Camden ended up being better at this part than hunter did. After touching the ball with our feet, it was almost just like playing volleyball. We proceeded to pass the ball and then hit it over to the other side. We thought that this was a very interesting sport that would be very fun to play with the inflatable court and the trampolines with more players. We could not accurately do every aspect of this sport because we did not have an inflatable Bossaball court but it was still fun to try it. We used a baseball net and a volleyball as our only equipment. We thought this would be easy, and it was not that difficult, but it would be harder if we did have the court and the trampolines because there is more flipping and passing than we could do. I am sure that at the professional level, just like any sport, would be a lot more intense and harder than we played it. We definitely enjoyed Bossaball more than we enjoyed Quidditch. Both sports are definitely something that we would like to try someday though!

This week we researched Bossaball. Bossaball originated in Spain and combines volleyball, football, gymnastics, and music into one. Bossaball is played on an inflatable court with a net in the middle with trampolines on both sides to allow players to jump and kick or flip. The teams consist of four players. One player starts on the trampoline, and the other three are positioned around them on the inflatables. One team serves the ball and the other team has five touches with any body part to get the ball to the other side, but one touch has to be with your foot. The goal is to not have the other team return the ball, like volleyball. The person positioned on the trampoline is called the attacker. They use the trampoline for height to ground the ball on the other side. The players rally back and forth until the ball touches the ground on one teams side. Whichever team lets the ball touch the ground on their side has lost the point, and the other team gains the point, just like volleyball. The referee is the interesting part of Bossaball. The referee is called a "samba" referee. They not only blow the whistle, but makes calls and serves as the Master of Ceremonies with a microphone, percussion, and a DJ set. Music is a very crucial part of the Bossaball competitions.
This week, we played Quiddich. We learned as much as we could about this sport last week, and we tried to test out our skills. We started as being the beater, and tried to hit a volleyball into a hula hoop that we held up. I was decent at this, but Hunter had some trouble starting out. It is a lot harder than either of us had ever imagined it to be. After we tried that position, we tried being the seeker. With this position, we had to somewhat improvise because we did not have anything that would be moving to put the tennis ball on. In real quiddich it is on the official, and the official is moving throughout the game. We just decided to throw the tennis ball and see if the other person could track it down and catch it. This part had some ups and downs, Hunter was better at this than I was. I could not hold on to the ball and catch it. Hunter was good at it, but he did trip one time. Overall, we thought this would be a fairly easy game. When we got to it though we realized that it was not. Especially, considering we didn't even have a defense going against us like they do in the usual game. During this attempt, we used a broom, a hula hoop, a tennis ball, a volleyball, and a baseball bat. We filmed multiple videos that will be in the Gallery at some point.
